Gearbox whine on my X3, finally got it sorted in Musaffah Shabiya
After my 2016 X3 30i started whining on cold starts and holding gears longer than normal, finding a Reliable BMW gearbox repair workshop in Musaffah Shabiya became my only priority. I called three places, two gave me vague answers and one told me to just replace the whole box without even scanning it, which felt off. A colleague mentioned a small shop he uses for his 5 series, so I gave it a shot and the guy actually took his time, showed me the fault codes, explained it was the valve body and not the whole transmission, and even let me look at the old parts after. Total came to a lot less than the replace quote and the car drives smooth again, no whine, no weird shifts. Not saying every shop is perfect but if you're stuck and tired of guessing, it might be worth asking around before you approve a full rebuild. Just my two fils.
